Abstract

The concept of education that integrates religious values ??with modern science serves as a fundamental basis for reviving the historical memory of the Islamic civilization's golden age—an era that recognized no dichotomy between knowledge and religion. Guessoum is a prominent figure who has made significant contributions to modern Islamic educational thought. This study employs a library research methodology, utilizing online platforms such as Sinta, Scopus, Google Scholar, DOAJ, Garuda, Mendeley, Emerald Insight, ScienceDirect, Open Knowledge Maps, Connected Papers, VOSviewer, and others. Content analysis serves as the data analysis technique, and the study adopts a historical-philosophical approach. The findings reveal that Guessoum’s body of thought—standing as a monument to the integration of modern Islamic education—emphasizes an inclusive and comprehensive approach. He highlights the importance of engaging students in active learning and providing opportunities for them to develop a profound understanding of Islamic teachings. Guessoum’s contributions to modern Islamic education span various aspects, ranging from the integration of religion and science to the application of Islamic values ??within social and global contexts. He stresses the necessity of integrating religion and science, viewing Islamic education not merely as a vehicle for teaching religious doctrine, but as a means to incorporate values ??related to humanity, science, culture, justice, equality, and peace.
