Abstract

The rapid development of Islamic financial technology (Islamic FinTech) has created new opportunities to expand access to Sharia-compliant financial services in Indonesia. However, product development has predominantly emphasized sharia compliance, while the broader objectives of Maqasid al-Shariah have not been fully integrated into the innovation process. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Maqasid al-Shariah in the development of Islamic FinTech products in Indonesia and to propose a conceptual framework for Maqasid-based product development. This research employed a qualitative library research approach by examining books, journal articles, regulations, and official reports related to Islamic FinTech and Maqasid al-Shariah. The findings indicate that although Islamic FinTech has experienced significant growth, its development continues to face challenges, including business-oriented innovation, limited adaptive regulation, inadequate Islamic financial literacy, and the absence of Maqasid-based evaluation indicators. This study proposes a conceptual framework that integrates Maqasid al-Shariah throughout the product development cycle, from identifying societal needs to evaluating social impact. The proposed framework contributes to strengthening the theoretical discourse on Islamic FinTech while providing practical guidance for regulators, industry practitioners, and Sharia supervisory authorities in developing more inclusive, sustainable, and socially beneficial financial innovations
